Hello, I’m Ben, a science writer based in Washington, D.C. I am currently a reporting intern with Greenwire, which is part of Environment and Energy Publishing, a subscription-based news service covering science, the environment and Congressional policy. My main beat is the nuclear industry, though you’ll find me on Capitol Hill covering a variety of topics (if/when I appear on C-SPAN, I will try to post a link here).
I’m a graduate of the University of Richmond journalism program, with a minor in environmental science. I held editor positions at my college’s newspaper and magazine, worked for several local publications, and am currently co-editor of RVAGOV, an innovative website that seeks to make the machinations of City of Richmond government accessible to citizens.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, podcasts, Neil deGrasse Tyson and listening to jazz and other kinds of music (the above picture is from my stint as a jazz drummer in college).
